NEW BRUNSWICK MUSEUM’S NEW COMBINED FACILITY

The NBM encourages the public to check out illustrations of the process to date, and provide your valuable comments below.

The mandate of the NBM is to preserve, research and interpret the natural, human and cultural heritage of the Province of New Brunswick. To do this, the NBM requires resources of various kinds, including proper facilities.

Milestones leading up to this important public engagement component include:

  • After various studies and engagement processes, it has been determined that a new purpose built building, bringing all primary components of the NBM under one roof, is required. This building will be constructed on a portion of what has been referred to as the ‘Coast Guard site’ adjacent Water Street and Loyalist Plaza at the bottom of King Street in the historic Uptown Saint John.
  • In October 2017, Premier Brian Gallant announced a $50 Million provincial commitment toward new facilities. This was followed up on February 22, 2018, with the Premier announcing that the Province of New Brunswick and the City of Saint John had come to an agreement on a portion of the Coast Guard site as the new home of the NBM.NBM Presentation Titleblock_A0 FINAL lighterNBM_Open_House_Boards_final-2-1NBM_Open_House_Boards_final-2-2
